Madrid - January 01, 2008 - Optenet, an information security technology multinational, has announced the opening of a new sales office in Germany. This strategic move into the German market will enable the company to consolidate its growth in Europe and to extend and improve the services it provides to both its present and future clients. The opening of the new office is being underpinned by the recruitment of a new sales director appointed by Optenet to boost the commercial expansion of the organization in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Holland.
Since it began its international expansion in 2001, Optenet has invested over 27% of its R&D resources in extending its business model to Europe, Latin America and the USA. In the case of Europe, Optenet is aware of the potential of the Internet security services sector, so it is focusing on markets that are more mature in technological terms. As Optenet managing director Omar Aguirre mentions: "The entry into Germany opens up a completely new market for us and we are very excited to be able to extend our services into this region."
In addition to Germany, the key markets for Optenet over the coming years will be Eastern Europe and Asia-Pacific. Additionally, in 2008 the company expects to grow and double its number of users from 55 million to 100 million as a result of the implementation of projects initiated over the course of 2006 in the US and Latin America.
